Hi, I’m Mark. I qualified as an electrician in 2009 after completing my apprenticeship at the age of 20. I then spent eight years working for an electrical contractor, carrying out a wide range of domestic and commercial work. During this time, I progressed from apprentice to an off-the-tools role as Head of Testing and Compliance before leaving in 2015.
Although I value and enjoy the office side of the business, I missed being hands-on. Working solely behind a desk was not something I could see myself doing long term. So, when Billy—who had also recently left the same company—got in touch about joining his new venture at XLS Electrical Services, I couldn’t say no.
Hi, I’m Billy. I qualified as an electrician while completing my apprenticeship with my uncle’s building and electrical company. I spent ten rewarding years with the business before deciding to move on from the family firm.
I later joined the same company as Mark, where I progressed to the role of Contract Manager. In this position, I managed multiple sites and worked closely with other contractors, gaining valuable experience and confidence. This ultimately led me to go it alone in 2015, when I founded XLS Electrical Services.
